Q: When someone is done dictating a letter through the call in process, is there a way it can automatically disconnect within a minute or so of hanging up? A lot of times not everyone can remember to do the * # (star, pound) and if it is not pushed at end of dictation, the system stays busy and does not hang up, and it cannot be used until I re-set it the next day.
A: There is an inactive setting and a busy detect setting. The busy setting detects the reorder tone returned by some phone systems. It sounds like a fast busy tone.
With inactive set a 1 minute and busy at level 3, it should hang up within a minute if no busy is detected. If busy tone is detected, it will disconnect sooner.
Be careful with the busy setting, as setting it lower can cause disconnects with certain authors voices.
